Calhoun has two parks. The Meadowlands Park which is directly North of the Municipal building and the River Park which is located at the boat dock on River Road.
The Meadowlands Park can be reserved for special occasions. To do this, contact City Hall at 336-2348 and schedule an open time. There is a covered pavilion, restrooms, picnic tables, and playground equipment. Adults should supervise children using the playground or riding on the walkways. There is a softball field located at the Meadowlands but it is reserved for youth activities. No one over 16 years of age can play softball on this field without special approval from the City Commission.
The River Park is located on the South side of Calhoun on the Hiwassee River bank. It includes a picnic area, swimming platform, boat launch area, and a small parking area.
The Calhoun United Methodist Church maintains a small park on the gounds of the Calhoun Cemetery. It is called Meditation Park. It is located next to the Calhoun 1st Baptist Church. The picture below shows the entrance to the gazebo which is the park.
